Kingsman Homes put heart & soul into dream Honley home

28th May 2012

Kingsman Homes last week received rave reviews at an open evening held to showcase their breathtaking new detached property - Green Cliff House - in the heart of Honley.

The three level, 4/5 bedroom, 2660 sq ft, detached home has been architecturally designed in collaboration with award-winning Huddersfield architects Acumen, and effortlessly combines traditional materials such as Yorkshire stone, hardwood doors and windows, and a solid ash staircase; with the height of modern technology including a cinema room with built-in projector, luxurious wet room and high spec kitchen.

But the real star of this property is the location, which the team at Kingsman have used to their advantage. Director Scott McDonald said: “When I stood on this plot of land and looked out over Magdale at the unencumbered views of woodland, I knew we had to buy it. It is such a fantastic location, just out of Honley village centre, and such an amazing view. We really wanted to make the most of it, which is why we designed the house so the lounge is on the second floor with expansive panoramic views to three sides. We really have put heart and soul into building this home.  It’s almost a shame to sell it!”

Architect Jeremy Child from Acumen added: “It is very rare for new properties to be built in established village centres, which is why we were so particular about building a house that would fit perfectly with the character of the village, but that had all the advantages of modern design and technology. I think we have managed to achieve the perfect balance with this home.”

Guests who attended the open evening were equally impressed, with both the views and the quality and specification of the house. One couple, Carol and Carl Dickinson from Holmfirth, had already benefitted from Kingsman Homes’ building expertise as the company demolished their bungalow and rebuilt a 4000 sq ft home in its place to Acumen’s design, which they won on competitive tender for the build contract. They said: “Scott gave us valuable input and ideas throughout the build process, which weren’t in the original specification, and the workmanship and attention to detail was top notch. With his help, we got exactly what we wanted - our dream home.”
